In the latest edition of what’s everyone going crazy about these days, I skipped gardening and hopped straight on the Milk Cheese Donuts bandwagon.
I donut have any regrets.
For a lot of people, this is a nostalgic treat—a pastry sprinkled with milk. Not for me though, as I’ve only heard about it because of my FOMO and my shameless propensity to jump on any hype.
The Bakery Boutique by Jhomes sparked my curiosity for milk cheese donuts because a lot of my friends have been posting about them. I first placed an order around two weeks ago, a box for home, and another as a gift to one of my best friends in the world.
Velvety cheese wrapped in light and airy pastry, then sprinkled with a dusting of milk powder and sugar—the hype is very real, such that they’ve since been recognized by Tatler Dining Philippines.
My favorite way of enjoying them is popping them in the microwave for 15 seconds on medium heat (or 90 seconds at 200 degrees in an oven toaster). It results in super indulgent melted cheese that makes it even more addicting.
Besides being kind to accommodate my requests for the latter, they were also generous to let me be the first to try a product they had in development: Strawberry Milk Cheese Donuts!
This limited-edition flavor is a fluffy, chewy donut filled with creamy cheese, and showered with milky strawberry-flavored fairy dust. It’s an amazing twist to the classic milk cheese donuts for when you’re looking for a fruity fix.
