When I was younger, I used to think that I’d be married by the time I was around 25.
I’m four years past that deadline and still very much unbetrothed, but I had lunch with the Francis Libiran, and it’s pretty up there on my list of highlights right now—only to be knocked off in the future when some guy I love asks me to marry him, of course. Then, maybe I’ll have a new Francis Libiran-related highlight: Walking down the aisle in one of his ethereal creations.
Since that’s not happening anytime soon, I thought I’d share instead some good news for actual brides-to-be:
Francis Libiran Bridal, the go-to boutique for RTW designer gowns, is returning to the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu for a trunk show on November 23 and 24, 2019.
The objective is to give Cebuano brides-to-be the opportunity to have a private consultation with the designer himself (!) and help them find their dream wedding dress.
There will be special discounts, a bridal make over from HG Studio and glam videos from SpinCam. More importantly, there is bubbly.
Now on its second year in Cebu, the trunk show’s vision is to externalize every bride’s inner beauty so that she feels more confident in her wedding gown. Francis Libiran Bridal aims to provide each client not only an unforgettable bridal gown but also an unforgettable experience.

As for lunch with Francis, the man himself is lovely, down-to-earth, and easy to talk to. We exchanged photos of our dogs, talked about fashion (naturally), waxed lyrical about the necessity of wine, and compared the traffic situation between our respective cities of Cebu and Manila, during which I found out that he actually takes an Angkas every now and then to meet clients! Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do.
